We've been sweating it out in the heat waves of the summer! What we've been up to:
Melissa cut her hair short!! We had a great adventure up to Michigan and back last month, including unexpected extra days in Indiana getting our van repaired (weee!). Aug 3rd, Melissa celebrated another circle around the sun; we kept it lowkey, upon her request to have some downtime. We did take a day to have our friend and engineer Grant Walden over for a recording session, and got two more songs recorded! The works-in-progress continue to be compiled. Aug 12th, we celebrated 18 years of marriage!! We are so grateful to have each other in these wild and weird times.

Thursday, August 21st- 6pm - Crafted Conversations, Singin River Live - Florence, AL
Crafted Conversations is a monthly event hosted by Florence First United Methodist Church Senior Pastor Dale Cohen to meet people where they are on their spiritual journey and to enjoy warm, engaging, and thought-provoking conversations. Meeting monthly at Singin' River Brewing Company in Florence, Alabama, the event offers a musical guest and thought-provoking discussions in a casual atmosphere. Perfect for those who may use the phrase, "I'm spiritual but not religious."
We've attended several of these events, and this will be our 2nd time as a featured musical guest. We always come away inspired, and with new friends - the audience sits at several round tables for discussions on a particular theme. It's a beautiful and unique experience.
Saturday, August 30th - 8-11pm - Buffa's Lounge, New Orleans, LA
This weekend marks the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. We knew we had to be back in New Orleans to commemorate such an impactful and life-altering event. It's part of what brought us together!

Saturday, September 13th - 6pm - Recovery at the River, McFarland Park, Florence, AL
This in-person gathering will be held at McFarland Park, where providers in the recovery community can come together to share resources, network, and learn from each other. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with others who are passionate about supporting recovery efforts.
Friday, September 19th - 5pm-8pm - Flying Tiger Brewing, Monroe, LA
We're excited to get back to North Louisiana and make our debut at Flying Tiger!
Saturday, September 20th - 6pm- Cornstalk 3 Music and Art Fair, Collinston, LA
This special event celebrates the Autumn Equinox and brings together friends and family, musicians and artists, food and the outdoors. Think house concert meets farm fair meets barn dance. Let us know if you'd like to join us and we'll share the details with you.
Saturday, September 27th - The Ritz Studio, Sheffield, AL
We're delighted to make our debut appearance at The Ritz Studio (which is the intimate, listening room next to the historic Ritz Theatre in downtown Sheffield, AL). We'll be sharing some new songs, some live-loop improvisation, and spoken word for this show. More info TBA.
